Mammoth Philosophy
The guiding principle for Mammoth is to listen to the needs of owners of building comfort systems, and to tailor our product offerings to meet those needs. This approach has helped us to achieve continuous product improvement and innovation, delivering increased product performance and maximum value.
Product Improvement
The fields of computer controls, metallurgy, fluid flow analysis, and refrigerant research are continuously producing new designs and materials. After rigorous testing, we incorporate these improvements in our designs. You can be confident that every Mammoth product or system you purchase is truly “state of the art.” Just a few of the product innovations we have implemented include:
- High-efficiency electric motors, often with variable-frequency drives
- Cabinets and enclosures with advanced coatings to resist environmental attack
- Fans and pumps that use improved flow concepts for more flow and maximum efficiency
- Microelectronic-based data logging, diagnostics, and unit controls
- Systems optimized for the use of advanced refrigerants
- Continuous improvements in operating acoustics
We won’t jump on every design bandwagon, but when improvements are genuine and can result in a better product, we adopt them quickly.
Innovation
From the beginning, we have been innovators in our field.
- In their time, our early furnaces were marvels of size and efficiency.
- When customers indicated an interest in larger rooftop units, we were the first to offer units larger than 100 tons.
- As customers showed increased interest in operating efficiency, we developed packaged evaporative condensing units that could reduce energy use from 20 to 50%.
- When customers indicated a growing concern about indoor air quality, we were among the first to design features into our units that help meet this need.
- As systems and controls became more complex, we led the way with factory-mounted controls and integrated monitoring systems.
- From our sister companies in the CES Group, we have access to an extended range of product types and features.
Our representatives listen to the changing needs of each individual customer, and work with our engineering staff to design systems that meet these unique needs.
Product Performance
When we say “product performance,” we mean more than just great efficiency and acoustic performance when the product is installed. We also mean design, materials, and construction to ensure that a high level of performance will continue long into the future. Furthermore, we know you’ll agree that durability and reliability are essential. Here are some of the steps we take:
- We do product testing under conditions far more rigorous than can be expected in the field.
- Products are constructed of materials that are specified to exceed industry standards.
- We invite customers to view in-plant performance tests for many products to demonstrate the level of performance you can expect in the field.
- Sophisticated built-in unit diagnostics alert the owner of necessary preventive maintenance to help avoid unexpected outages.
- We will help train your operating staff to ensure long-term, reliable unit performance.
Maximum Value
Notice that we emphasize maximum value rather than lowest first cost. We believe that the best value for the owner is the product that will have the lowest cost through its entire life cycle. That said, we are often the lowest first cost as well. We can achieve that for several reasons:
- Products are custom built, rather than picked out of inventory. This means lower operating costs for us, which we pass through to the buyer.
- Custom-built products have only the features that you want and will use. You don’t pay for unnecessary controls or unneeded gadgets.
- Units are carefully selected to be the right size for your job. You don’t have to pay for more capacity than you actually need. We build equipment exactly the right size for your job.
